Virtual reality and the entertainment industry

Virtual reality, or VR, is actively being implemented in traditional formats of family entertainment centers (location-based entertainment — LBE or family entertainment center — FEC). What is LBE VR, what are its main components and what is Free roam? We will analyze these in the article.

LBE VR entails offering entertainment based on the use of virtual reality technology. Such locations typically include VR machines, arenas and other attractions. LBE is gaining popularity among people.

At LBE attractions, visitors are immersed in thrilling adventures and experience the adrenaline rush as they hunt ghosts, battle space invaders, or immerse themselves in fantastical worlds.

A VR club is a small LBE location (usually up to 300m2) that includes play areas with specialized equipment and virtual reality attractions.  

A VR park is another LBE location. It is a large entertainment complex with attractions, arenas of different sizes, and lounge areas for events and celebrations. It is usually considered that an entertainment complex which has an area that starts from 500 m2 and has a high capacity could be called a park. It also  has a distinctive feature: gamers are no longer limited by cables or territory. Free roam technology allows for a deeper immersion in the gameplay: participants do not move by joysticks, being at the same place physically, they walk in real space and it is reflected in the virtual one. Undoubtedly, LBE VR, which has an opportunity to apply Free roam, offers something new to visitors. It will distinguish it from other locations. Free roam is usually used in large arenas. In relation to LBE VR and Free roam, there are instruments that help to create a virtual world for a player and allow him or her to immerse themselves in it. These are served by a VR helmet and controllers. You would, of course, need the software or game itself, a computer and access to Wi-fi. As mentioned above, the headset for Free roam must be wireless as a cable helmet will automatically make this format impossible.

LBE VR is gradually becoming the point of attraction where players go for a new experience and fun. LBE locations offer immersive adventures where participants can step into virtual worlds and engage with interactive narratives, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. A VR park is the largest space in terms of area and has a larger number of attractions. LBE is getting more popular day by day. Free roam gives an incredibly engaging gaming experience.
